This short course will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will give you a basic understanding of: 1. What is sudden cardiac arrest; 2. How it is different to a heart attack; 3. CALL, PUSH, SHOCK - What a bystander can do to help someone survive who is in cardiac arrest; 4. Being prepared emotionally to respond, and what to do after responding to a cardiac arrest event. 5. Staying safe as a responder to a cardiac arrest event. 6. The role of CPR in the Chain of Survival; 7. The role of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) in the Chain of Survival; 8. How to assess whether someone is in cardiac arrest; 9. How to perform hands only CPR; 10. How to use an AED.
