In the case of a sudden cardiac arrest, responders need to know where the closest AED is.

If you've got an AED, let people know that you've got what it takes to help save a life!

We acknowledge businesses, organisations and community groups that have an AED on site which demonstrates that they take the prevention of Sudden Cardiac Death seriously!

Each year, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) kills around 22,000 Australians.  For every minute that passes without a defibrillator being used, the patient’s chances of survival decrease by 10%.  This comes at a massive emotional and financial cost to the families who lose their loved ones, and a significant fiscal cost to society.

At present, ambulance response times in Australia are around 8-12 minutes, however, with the present outbreak of COVID19, some response times have been quoted as being up to 30 minutes.  Pre-COVID19, survival rates for SCA in Australia were around 10% and we do not yet know the stats since ambulance response times have been stretched due to increased demands because of COVID19.

The good news is that bystander CPR and early use of a defibrillator increases the chance of survival by around 70%.  So, put your organisation at the Heart of the Nation by demonstrating that you take the prevention of sudden cardiac death seriously.
