We hear a lot about cancer, road tolls and other causes of death each year in Australia – but did you know that by far, the biggest killer is Sudden Cardiac Arrest? Around 27,000 Australians die each year from SCA - but they don’t have to. The way to combat a Sudden Cardiac Arrest is with CPR and AED’s (defibrillators). Keeping the patient alive until medical care arrives increases the chances of surviving an out of hospital SCA from 10% to almost 70%. So, learn CPR and make sure there is an AED on hand at home, at work, and at play!
